I am at my stand at the Edinburgh Art Show for the next three days. Come and see me! While I am here I have a completely separate show at 108FineArt in Harrogate. I dont think i have ever worked so hard in my life to get things ready but these are two fabulous opportunities to raise my profile.
Two days into my RSA Barns-Graham trip to South Korea. Loads of Art to see. Thanks to Hank for meeting me at the airport and showing me around.
Really excited to see Lee Jae Hyo studio. This opened last night. Thanks to everyone who came - especially to the person (you know who you are!) who gave me my first red dot after college. A great night and looking forward to the rest of our pop up week.
I have been overwhelmed by the reaction to my work. People seem to have really enjoyed my what I have been doing and I now have a clear idea of what my next steps are - watch this space for details.
I would really like to thank everyone who has helped me. Bernard - thank you for all the wood. I may need more! Mum & Dad - always there with a trailer when needed. My tutors at ECA - for always pushing me (Kevin, Gordon, David, Andrea & Kenny) Friends and Fellow Artists - you know who you are. Thank you for making art school fun. I will be back in my studio next week What a fabulous experience,
So many positive comments about my work - both face to face and on social media. A big thank you everyone who has come to see my little corner of the degree show. I have sold four pieces so an especially big shout out to those who have bought - I will put the money towards making the most of the RSA Barns-Graham travel award trip to South Korea. You should see the results at next years RSA exhibition. Fantastic news in my email yesterday.
I have been awarded the Barns-Graham travel award by the Royal Scottish Academy. I will use this to visit the studio of Lee Jae Hyo in Korea to see how he puts his artistic ideas into practice. He is a huge inspiration to me - I love his work. Visit his website to see what I mean, Even better I will get to exhibit at the 2020 RSA exhibition. This is really exciting even if it is a little bit frightening - in a good way - too. Here is a cutting from my old school newsletter describing a visit to Millfield Sculpture Park. Kind of pleasing they were sketching my work! I hope they enjoyed it.
